A four-operator FM synthesizer that combines in-depth sound editing with a clear, easy-to-understand control layout.

OPx-4 makes FM synthesis accessible: instead of in-depth theory, all it takes is turning clearly laid-out controls to discover new sounds. Under the hood, a 4x4 FM matrix with tone shaping and filtering is at work, and each operator offers pulse width, formant, FM filtering and FM shaping as well as ADSR and FM envelopes. A dual-mode filter path with 23 filter types, six envelopes with tempo-synced looping, two LFOs, two ramps and a 32-slot modulation matrix expand the possibilities, while three insert and two global effect slots draw on 27 included AIR effects such as reverb, delay, distortion and modulation, from shimmering pads to DX-style electric pianos.
