Studio Strings offers four instrument models, from the deep double bass through cello and viola to the violin, each with numerous articulations such as staccato up and down, pizzicato, sustain, tremolo, marcato and legato. The carefully sampled library contains over 1 GB of content and 100 presets, covering everything from orchestral hits for boom-bap beats to symphonic arrangements and solo violin lines. Dynamics, envelopes, vibrato, aftertouch and the speed and length of legato glides can all be adjusted, and an effects section with EQ, filter, reverb and delay gives the strings a modern edge when required. According to AIR, the instrument can also be unlocked on Akai MPC and Force standalone hardware.
