NEU-W492 is a precision four-band EQ inspired by a legendary German console module that defined the sound of European studios in the 1980s.

NEU-W492 combines clean, precise frequency control with a natural and open sound: four fully parametric bands with overlapping frequency ranges handle both subtle shaping and heavy tone sculpting, from broad tone balancing to intricate mastering adjustments. It adds clarity without harshness and weight without muddiness, and every inductor, capacitor and amplifier stage has been modelled to capture the effortless, glassy top end, full low-frequency definition and distinctive hi-fi character of the original. The hardware module was developed in the late 1970s, quickly adopted by major European broadcast and recording studios and prized in top-of-the-line mastering consoles and broadcast desks for its precision, neutrality and consistency across channels; Antelope Audio analysed a pristine unit from the early 1980s.
