VEQ-HLF is a simple but effective unit for passive low and high cut-off filtering, ideal for removing unwanted frequencies or adding true vintage analogue colour.

VEQ-HLF has just two knobs, one each for the passive low-cut and high-cut filters, each switchable at ten carefully selected frequency steps. It is the ideal tool for creating space in your mix by removing unneeded frequencies at the extremes of the spectrum – and even without using its filters, simply adding it to your chain imparts its warm, musical colouration. The original has been around since the 1960s and was designed to cut hum in the lows and hiss in the highs, but it also served as an early sound design tool for effects such as telephone speakers and robot voices. The model takes into account the unit’s three hand-made multitap inductors, to which it owes its highly regarded analogue colour.
