Professional swamp sound effects that capture the acoustic complexity of wetlands where land and water constantly overlap, in a stereo version.

SWAMPS was recorded on two expeditions to Florida over three years: field recordist Matt Mikkelsen used BOOM’s ORTF 3D system with SCHOEPS microphones to capture frogs at several distances, feeding wading birds such as egrets and ibises, close and distant alligator bellows, insect beds, reed movement and mud squelch textures – natural behaviour rather than staged activity. Only the strongest and most stable takes from more than 150 hours of raw material were selected, without heavy processing or noise reduction, so the material holds up well when stretched, layered or repitched. Alongside close-up textures, the library includes wide ambiences at dawn, at night and during passing storms, and the stereo versions provide a tight, clearly defined image without drift or phase instability.
