Professional swamp sound effects from Florida in accurate ORTF 3D surround, capturing the acoustic complexity of wetlands between land and water for immersive productions.

SWAMPS was recorded on two expeditions to Florida over three years: field recordist Matt Mikkelsen used SCHOEPS microphones and Sound Devices recorders to document frogs at several distances, feeding egrets and ibises, close and distant alligator bellows, insect beds and reed movement in their natural behaviour. BOOM’s ORTF 3D configuration ensures stable localisation and phase integrity in immersive formats, so the material behaves consistently even in complex multichannel sessions. Only the strongest takes from more than 150 hours of raw material were selected, without heavy processing or noise reduction, ranging from close mud and squelch textures to wide ambiences at dawn, at night and during passing storms.
