Instead of sustained vowels or static samples, Fantasy Vocal Phrases delivers more than 550 complete, live-performed phrases sung in an improvised fantasy language between real speech and pure vocalisation, organised into 8 main themes and 2 bonus themes. The vocals were recorded by Katharina Wirtz, a singer and flutist with credits on soundtracks such as The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle and Anno 117: Pax Romana. Every theme was recorded in 4 different keys, so phrases can be matched to all twelve keys with minimal pitch shifting; beginnings and endings can be combined, processing can be dialled back and the FX page gives you full control over the EQ. The voice sits naturally over orchestral, hybrid and ambient scores inspired by worlds like The Witcher, The Elder Scrolls and The Lord of the Rings.
