More than 4,500 metal footstep and movement recordings at small, medium and large sizes were captured from heavy industrial hardware such as tool cabinets, ammunition boxes, extractor hoods, steel beams, car jacks and sheet metal. They are joined by servo motors in six configurations with plastic and metal housings, plus mechanical sources from industrial gears, ratchets and vintage hardware including signal box levers, jet cockpit components and commercial door mechanisms. Each recorded element comes with six variations and the metal footstep and movement categories with twelve, the synthetic elements follow the same size-class relationships as the recorded material, and UCS-compliant filenames with embedded metadata make searching in Soundminer, Basehead and Soundly fast.
