Live performed phrases of the North Indian esraj and the Chinese erhu – two traditional string instruments for expressive compositions.

The esraj is a North Indian string instrument known for its extremely soft and smooth tones; over the last 300 years it has often accompanied voices, enriching them with the warm, full sound of its resonance strings. The erhu is a two-string Chinese spike fiddle with great strength of character, at home in both traditional and contemporary music. The more than 670 live performed phrases range from simple and touching to virtuosic and stirring, and can be adjusted in key, speed, length, succession and connection. An erhu legato and an esraj sustain instrument complete the library.
