Virtual synthesizer based on the monophonic preset synth ARP released in 1972 – with all 30 original presets, fully programmable and expanded with polyphony, layers, a mod matrix and effects.

The circuit-modelled DSP designs of developer Mark Barton recreate the expressive controls and sound architecture of the original, including the “Resonator Bank” of five parallel bandpass filters – the key to the Pro Soloist’s realistic orchestral timbres. The interface has three panels: Performance mode recalls the original paddle presets via MIDI-mappable switches, Edit mode opens up every synthesis parameter including the LFO, ADSR and AR envelopes, the “Super Wave” oscillator and a six-slot modulation matrix, and Arp/FX mode adds a syncable arpeggiator and a dozen effects. Two layers with 16 voices each play two presets at once – stacked or as a keyboard split, with independent volume and panning.
