Virtual drum machine that uses modelled synthesis to recreate the analogue sounds and 34 preset rhythms of Roland’s 1978 CompuRhythm CR-78 – with step programming, song mode and editable sounds.

The CR-78 is regarded as the first programmable, microprocessor-controlled analogue drum machine and was used by artists such as Blondie, Ultravox, Phil Collins and Genesis, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Roxy Music, The Cars and Hall and Oates. Cherry Audio recreates every sound without samples using modelled synthesis and makes it editable, from subtle to radical, in the Voice Edit panel. Instead of the complex original programming, you work with an X0X-style button-per-step interface and chain patterns in song mode. In the mixer, a send button routes each instrument to four effects, complemented by a compressor and a six-band graphic EQ.
