A meticulous recreation of the 1983 Jupiter-6 analogue polyphonic synthesizer, expanded with velocity sensitivity, a layer mode, 16 voices and integrated effects.

The Jupiter-6 is known for its distinctive dark and complex character: its versatile filter sounds more aggressive than earlier Jupiters, its VCOs produce multiple waveforms at once, and two LFOs plus oscillator cross modulation open up extensive modulation – a natural for techno, electro, house and big beat. Mercury-6 adds velocity sensitivity, an improved split mode and a layer mode that stacks two sounds with per-layer panning, detuning and sustain, and extends polyphony from six to 16 voices. The arpeggiator, including the original’s hidden up/down modes, gains a random mode and MIDI tempo sync, joined by chord memory, per-layer drift, effects such as distortion, phaser, flanger/chorus, delay and reverb, and over 500 presets.
