Wurlybird 140B is Cherry Audio’s first sample-based instrument: sound designer Mike Martin recorded keyboardist Tom Hammer’s reference instrument so that the response of every key and reed is preserved. Subtle randomisation of key release and pedal sounds, the clunk of the sustain pedal, adjustable background hum and the precisely modelled original preamp make it feel alive under your fingers. Many Wurly fans particularly value the 140B for its action and tone; the Wurlitzer sound can be heard on hits by Ray Charles, Queen and Supertramp through to Beck and Billie Eilish. Eight stompbox-style effects and 50 presets by James Terris cover classic to modern tones.
