Virtual drum machine that combines Korg’s KR-55A and KR-55B – with all 240 original patterns, intros and fills plus 200 additional patterns and kits.

The original KR-55 of 1979 and the KR-55B released in 1982 offered preset rhythms only, yet they were used by Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Cabaret Voltaire and Jean-Michel Jarre and can be heard on Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out”. KR-55C recreates the sounds with synthesis and makes them editable with tuning, tone, decay and parametric EQ for each instrument, while the interface changes depending on whether the A or B model is selected. You programme your own patterns X0X-style with 16 or 24 steps or in real time and chain up to 99 patterns in song mode. A mixer with effects routing matrix, overdrive, flanger/chorus, delay, reverb, bus compressor and limiter, plus DAW sync, individual outputs and drag-and-drop MIDI export, make it ready for the studio.
