Virtual synthesizer that faithfully recreates the sound and behaviour of the JP-8, adding two layers with 16 voices each, extended modulation, effects and expressive performance features.

Mercury-8 builds on Cherry Audio’s Mercury line and was developed with the latest circuit and behaviour modelling techniques – so precisely that it even allows data exchange with MIDI-modified original hardware. Each layer offers two oscillators with sync and exponential cross-modulation, a high-pass and a resonant low-pass filter with 12 or 24 dB slopes, two ADSR envelopes and a syncable LFO. The Analog Drift and Condition controls set the “age” of the synth from pristine to unstable vintage, and the multi-voice mode varies pitch, panning, filter and envelopes per voice. Included are over 600 presets by ten sound designers, the 64 original JP-8 factory patches, the eight factory setups and a MIDI controller mapping compatible with the Jupiter-X hardware.
