Decimort 2 is a high-quality bit crusher that brings the colouration and warmth of classic sampler converter circuits to any sound.

Electronic music producers, especially in hip-hop, have long valued the distinctive character of early Akai and E-MU samplers, which gave samples and loops extra grit and weight. Decimort 2 recreates this colouration, which stemmed from encoding techniques, lower sample rates and bit depths and the converter circuits, and can also be pushed to extreme settings for dramatic results. A steep approximation filter before resampling, an image filter after it, adjustable jitter and dithering and two quantisation algorithms give you full control over the process. Analogue-style multimode filters with resonance work either before or after the resampler.
