PunchBox 2 is a drum synthesizer for powerful kick drums, built around four parallel generators and a built-in effects rack.

Three universal sample-based layers shape the supporting elements of the kick, while the main Kick generator operates in five modes: Sample, emulations of the 909, 808 and 606 kick circuits, and Wavetable. The effects rack includes a bitcrusher based on Decimort, distortion, a filter with Resonant and SH-101 models, an equaliser with Modern and Vintage models, Mono Bass, Soft Clip and a limiter; the first four modules can be reordered and integrated into different patchbay configurations. Multi-stage envelopes, real-time pitch detection and a waveform preview support precise sound design.
