The Yamaha C7 from the Quantum Leap Pianos collection is a sampled piano with a smooth yet characterful sound that really shines in blues, folk, stride and ragtime.

With a beautiful mid-range and a light twinkle in the high end, the Yamaha C7 blends smoothness and character and practically invites a few jazzy ornaments here and there. It is an excellent choice for blues and folk, especially old American classics, and shines in styles such as stride and ragtime, while remaining perfectly suitable for orchestral writing. Sustain, repetitions, soft pedal and staccato were sampled with many velocity layers, complemented by pedal resonance and release samples. Recording took place with vintage Neumann microphones, Meitner AD converters and a vintage Neve 8078 console.
