A virtual Steinway D concert grand with a bright, regal and elegant tone that captures the full sound of the concert hall and shines in broad, virtuosic passages.

The Steinway D handles soft passages gracefully and comes into its own in broad, virtuosic playing – for composers and performers alike. Sustain and sustain with pedal were sampled at 10 to 18 velocities per note, along with repetitions taken from 180 BPM performances that the software detects as true repetitions, soft pedal, 16-velocity staccato and release samples, with pedal resonance recorded for every note at multiple velocities, including with the soft pedal down. It was recorded with vintage Neumann microphones, Meitner AD converters and a vintage 8078 Neve console, and the software lets you mix mic positions and swap the stereo image.
