By reducing the gain below the threshold, Pure Expander helps you clean up drum spill, microphone bleed, noise or reverb and tighten up a mix by removing unwanted low-level clutter. Beyond ratio, attack and release, the Envelope, Time and Detection settings let you control the fundamental characteristics of the processing: attack, hold and release with manual, auto and advanced release modes, zero attack times via a delay in the signal path and eight detection modes, including Feed Backward modes inspired by vintage hardware. Dynamic Factor and Dynamic Velocity set the amount and speed of variation of the extracted dynamics information, and a three-band equaliser in the side chain enables frequency-sensitive processing.
