A channel strip plug-in modelled on the custom-modified Altec 1567A tube mixer/preamp used at Norman Petty Studios in Clovis, New Mexico.

NP A67 recreates the sound of the custom-modified Altec 1567A tube mixer with which Norman Petty shaped the Clovis Sound on early recordings by Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and more. Pushing the input towards 0 dB produces tube saturation and the natural compression of the original, while the optional analogue hum adds the noise of vintage components. Bass and treble controls emulate the vintage tone stack, an additional mid peaking band (200 Hz to 2.5 kHz, ±12 dB) extends it, and high-pass and low-pass filters plus a Mix control make the plug-in suitable for vocals, drums, guitars and mastering.
