A frequency-domain linear-phase equaliser that discreetly rebalances mixes leaning one way or another – MAAT’s reworked reissue of the LinearPhase PEQ Red by Algorithmix.

thEQred adds crystalline air to a dark mix without harshness, or gives the lower mids and bass more weight without bloat or loss of focus. Working strictly in the frequency domain and preserving the time relationship of the harmonics, it leaves transients unsmeared and sounds a little softer than its sister model thEQorange. VariSlope technology provides shelf and cut filters with continuously adjustable slopes from almost 0 to 24 dB per octave, from broad, gentle strokes to deep cuts. With sample rates up to 384 kHz, resonant frequencies up to 80 kHz and 80-bit precision, thEQred is also suited to high-resolution DSD, DXD and game audio productions.
