Pianet T is an ACE-modelled recreation of an innovative electro-mechanical piano whose vibrating reeds are plucked by NASA-patented plastic suction pads, delivering a distinctive and captivating sound.

The reeds in the Pianet T are not struck: pink plastic suction pads suck on each reed until it snaps loose and begins to vibrate. Small coils, similar to guitar pickups, convert the vibrations into an electrical signal whose intricate sound comprises numerous sine waves – occasionally more than 100 of them need to be computed. To keep the CPU from being overtaxed, the plug-in uses an enhanced version of a formula pioneered by a seventh-century Indian mathematician. Alongside the pickup model there is a physically modelled unplugged sound, and both can be combined in the 2-channel mixer with pan, width, room and volume.
