A tool for directly controlling and synthesising the harmonics of monophonic material such as vocals, bass, trumpet or saxophone.

Formants are largely static in the spectrum and can be changed with an equalizer, whereas harmonics follow the pitch. MCharacter works directly in the spectral domain, detects pitch reliably and controls the levels of the first 32 harmonics instantly and simply. Missing harmonics or a sub-octave can be synthesised using two simple graphs. In addition, any parameter can be modulated by an LFO, audio level follower, envelope generator, randomiser or pitch detector.
