A virtual instrument featuring the dark sounds of Aztec death whistles, designed as an introduction to Mntra’s MNDALA 2 sampler engine.

Performed by Mntra founder, composer and multi-instrumentalist Brian D’Oliveira, Ultrasonic Death Whistle opens a window into a collection of rare pre-Columbian death whistles, some of them handcrafted in the studio and many featured in the soundtracks of multiple award-winning AAA video games. Each whistle is sculpted by hand, sounds recognisably unique and has its own sample map and a name that reflects its character. An interactive scene inspired by video game audio provides non-linear, multidimensional control and patch creation for intuitive, seamless musical expression.
