A virtual instrument with a macabre collection of haunted sounds for horror, built on years of research and development in custom instruments for horror video games and films.

Kymera is the first entry in a new series of instruments based on the principles of musique concrète developed by French composer Pierre Schaeffer in the 1940s: its idiosyncratic sounds were recorded in extreme ultrasonic quality, so you can pitch and manipulate them beyond recognition without losing clarity and definition. Inspired by classic horror sound effects, the palette spans the screeching tones of dry ice on metal, whining hurdy-gurdy drones, blood-curdling screams and the voice of studio mascot Penny the French bulldog. The 60 presets include dynamic monster vocalisations, environmental sounds and foley as well as tonal elements such as rhythmic sequences, drones and pads made from surprising sources, for sound designers, experimental musicians and film or video game composers.
