A virtual instrument paying tribute to Vietnam’s capital city, created during an immersive creative residency in Vietnam by Mntra’s in-house sound and visual designer Noah Sherrin.

Ha Noi looks into the heart and soul of the unique musical heritage of a city renowned for its dramatic contrasts, vibrant music and rich history. Top-tier local musicians contributed characteristic sounds and expressive performances drawing on time-honoured traditions and innovative contemporary techniques, complemented by soundscapes captured throughout Northern Vietnam. Within the MNDALA 2 engine these vivid sounds have been artistically reinterpreted and reshaped into a multitude of new forms, while the Perform View artwork tells the legend of Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi’s Old Quarter through abstract drawings and geometric patterns in the style of ancient ornamental bronze drums.
