The expanded version of Ultrasonic Death Whistle: a virtual instrument of rare pre-Columbian death whistles with more than twice the samples of the original.

Performed by Mntra founder Brian D’Oliveira, UDW X presents a collection of rare pre-Columbian death whistles sourced through years of field research while he composed for multiple award-winning AAA video game soundtracks. Each whistle is hand-sculpted, sounds distinctly different and is named to echo its character, while the video game-inspired interface provides non-linear, simultaneous control over a wealth of dynamic parameters. Compared with the original UDW, this expanded version offers more than twice the samples and uses the features of the MNDALA 2 engine, from sample start modulation and multi-mic position recordings to newly designed DSP effects. A fresh bank of over 60 curated presets showcases these sound design possibilities.
