A hybrid electro-acoustic synthesizer that merges the raw distortion of tube-driven circuits with the natural resonance of physical objects.

For Vespera, the distorted signals of a tube-driven modular synth were re-amped through a vibrational speaker transducer and resonated through drums with various skins, metal springs and resonant instruments such as a rare giant Indian Ezraj and a Swedish Nyckelharpa. Everything was captured with custom Oaka Instruments Tellus pickups, custom preamps and mastering-grade AD conversion. Thanks to the Animistic Synthesis capabilities of MNDALA 2 and Sample Start Modulation (SSM), every patch responds non-linearly to the subtlest nuances of your playing, with more than 128 velocity variations. The range spans pulsating rhythms and ethereal atmospheres through to gritty textures and haunting drones.
