The MF-102S Ring Modulator re-invents Moog Music’s classic MF-102 pedal as a plug-in, pairing a wide-range carrier oscillator with an LFO for effects from soft tremolo through far-out clangorous ring modulation tones.

Introduced in 1998, the MF-102 combined three complete modular functions: a ring modulator, a voltage-controlled carrier oscillator and a voltage-controlled dual-waveform LFO. Designed by Bob Moog and his engineering team as a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers, it processes guitar, voice, synthesizer and any other audio source. The MF-102S meticulously captures the spaced-out, retro-futuristic sound and the organic interaction of the controls, from classic tremolo to otherworldly metallic textures. New additions include a mono or stereo carrier with out-of-phase stereo carrier signals, panning and reverse, a bipolar or unipolar LFO, attenuatable CV inputs for carrier frequency, LFO rate, LFO amount and mix plus an independent carrier input, along with presets, multiple instances and virtual CV links to the other Moogerfooger plug-ins.
