A virtual string instrument built from sampled cello textures and vintage synth strings, freely combinable into hybrid sounds.

For String Central, a virtuoso cellist recorded the entire fingerboard at 3 to 5 velocities, captured with ribbon mics, tube preamps and large-diaphragm condenser mics. The textures include staccato, forte, tremolo, legato, pizzicato, long sweeping tones and arpeggios, complemented by two synth string sounds from the 70s. You can play each texture on its own or combine them into new hybrid tones, then shape the result with envelope, filter, LFOs, arpeggiator, melody builder and onboard effects.
