Enshape captures the volume curve of the signal in detail and displays it as a blue input envelope and a yellow target envelope. Attack and release are always applied relative to the level of the transient, so quiet parts such as the verse are compressed just as effectively as loud parts such as the chorus, without over- or under-compression. Only four parameters replace the compressor: attack and release of the input envelope determine how closely the original signal is captured, while attack and release of the target envelope define the adjustment. Longer attack values reduce the transient, and longer release values enhance sustain and release.
