Standard downmix coefficients can lead to unsatisfactory results, particularly when legacy upmixing practices were used for the original surround mix; Halo Downmix produces a more coherent stereo mix, controls excessive diffuse sound from artificial reverb and removes delay artefacts from the rear channels. In surround-to-surround mode, 5.1 and 7.1 mixes can be re-balanced channel by channel and in their direct/diffuse balance, and the included 3D Immersive Extension adds downmixing from 7.1.2, the format used for Dolby Atmos bed tracks. With the included NUGEN Receive plug-in you can work in surround and stereo in parallel and quickly A/B both versions. The customisable interface offers advanced and compact modes, in-place monitoring, linked solo and mute functions and a clear view of surround energy distribution.
