A virtual grand piano created in collaboration with Fazioli Pianoforti and authorised by Fazioli – recorded on the F278 at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile.

The F278 is the resident grand piano of the Fazioli Concert Hall and was inaugurated in 2005 by the Italian pianist Aldo Ciccolini; Fazioli technicians prepared it for the recordings, and the virtual instrument was tested and approved in Fazioli’s laboratories. Paolo Principi recorded the piano in three microphone positions: Close for jazz and pop productions, Side for classical music and Binaural, which simulates the pianist’s position inside the Fazioli Concert Hall. Up to 14 velocity layers with natural decay and no loops, adjustable sympathetic resonance, release layer and damper noise, and a convolution reverb complete the instrument.
