A compressor for smooth, musical compression across a variety of tracks and groups, originally designed for film and TV post-production.

The base algorithm and inspiration for PSP Flare were provided by Paolo Pasquariello, a talented Italian post-production sound engineer. A unique probability-based single-band algorithm with a wide knee delivers natural gain reduction that works well in almost any application beyond film and video. Preamp section modelling on the input, lookahead to tame transients, automatic makeup gain and a dry/compressed mix for parallel compression extend its capabilities. An output brick-wall limiter with adjustable ceiling and release time protects the output.
