Q Up Arts Universe of Sounds V2 KNT - Download

The second volume of the Universe of Sounds library, which became the defining soundset for the Emulator II sampler in the 1980s, prepared as playable instruments for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Originally assembled by Doug Morton, the Universe of Sounds was heard on numerous records of the 1980s, including those by Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel and Thomas Dolby. Volume 2 adds more than 500 instruments to Volume 1, focusing on classic analogue and digital synths alongside brass, string and orchestral patches: cellos, Mellotron textures, tremolos and pizzicatos, Fairlight-style choirs, orchestral hits, African percussion, gamelan, wood flutes, pan pipes, shakuhachi, Solina strings and PPG tones. Captured at 24-bit/44 kHz and delivered at 16-bit/44 kHz, the patches retain the character of the original 8-bit, 27 kHz samples, with velocity layers mapped to the filter. The interface offers a Vintage button for the unprocessed mono sound of the original hardware, an ADSR envelope, a filter with velocity control and a convolution-based recreation of a mid-1980s Lexicon reverb.
