Voices of the Aztecs brings the sound world of the Aztecs into your music with a comprehensive collection of Aztec instruments, loops and vocals, recorded in Mexico from archaeological artefacts and playable in Native Instruments’ Kontakt Player.

The instruments come from archaeological digs in Mexico and were carefully sampled, from the thunderous huehuetl drum to delicate ocarinas, along with water drums, wooden percussion, clay flutes and the sea shell horn. Recitations of Nahuatl poems by Santos de la Cruz, a poet of Aztec descent, complete the collection. According to the manufacturer, it is the only published sample library featuring real, indigenous sounds of the Aztecs, whose empire vanished over 400 years ago. A new interface makes it easy to use, and the sounds suit film scoring, game audio and ambient soundscapes.
