MB3X is a plug-in emulation of a multiband mastering compressor built by Rocksonics Professional Audio in the mid-1990s, combining compression, limiting and saturation in one plug-in with a few extras available only in the plug-in.

Multiple layers of programme-dependent RMS level detectors deliver smooth, low-distortion and musical results while keeping set-up very simple. The three fixed bands are separated by constant-amplitude Bessel crossovers with very low phase distortion and no pre-ringing, and a single Threshold control sets the nominal threshold, which you can trim for each band via unique “tilting” trim controls. MB3X can automatically balance the audio spectrum, for example for web radio, or preserve the source EQ balance in mastering – either way it brings out detail while controlling dynamics musically for a “finished” sound.
