BIG (Binaural Image Generator) creates a pseudo-stereo image from mono sources or adds width, depth and “aura” to stereo sources.

To do this, BIG combines cross-fed micro-pitch shifting with Haas delays: two high-quality micro-pitch shifters generate complementary pitch shifts for the left and right channels, enhancing the stereo image while reducing the comb filtering that simple stereo delay spreading can cause. Hi Cut and Lo Cut filters control the frequency range of the generated signals to further improve transparency and effectiveness. Use BIG on mono-to-stereo tracks, stereo buses, instrument tracks and buses and vocal tracks, starting from the basic set of presets that works well in many situations.
