A kick drum synthesizer with circuit-accurate TR-909 emulation, delivering deep, punchy low end with sharp transients, from classic to heavily distorted.

BDX-909 was built from analysed hardware schematics and recreates the 909 punch with hardware-accurate diode clipping, transistor VCA modelling and an LFSR noise generator clocked at 300 kHz. The mod wheel (CC1) morphs the clipping in real time from classic asymmetric TR-909 character to extreme distortion, while phase-aware click enhancement boosts transients when the main oscillator is weak. Two MIDI modes offer chromatic playing or 24 preset tunings mapped to C6 to B7, complemented by pitch bend (±12 semitones), Tune X2 and Decay X2 switches and a hardware-matched velocity curve. RC envelopes with hardware-measured time constants and multi-stage filtering deliver kicks from tight vintage rhythms to aggressively distorted modern sounds, with zero latency.
