The character plug-in from Rhodes for keyboardists, guitarists, producers and instrumentalists combines six Rhodes preamps with seven amplifiers and seven microphones for warmth and analogue colour.

From smooth vintage saturation to crisp modern edge, Vari-Amp adds depth, colour and dynamic movement to a single track or brings cohesion and character to an entire mix. At its heart is a dual-module architecture: six Rhodes preamps, each with its own EQ topology, including the MK1 ’79 Suitcase, Hot Rodded and MK8, meet an Amp/Mic section with the DUO, 8015 Combo, L5, Rhodes Suitcase Cabinet, Rhodes Satellite, ACT PA and EXPR Combo plus seven dynamic, condenser and ribbon microphones, and each module has its own dry/wet blend. A three-mode Drive based on the MK8 preamp, a compressor with parallel mix and flexible pre/post routing, global EQ and reverb and an input gain that shapes the circuit’s response and harmonic structure complete the signal chain, while preset management provides instant recall.
