The trio of Ancient Greek Strings, Winds and Percussion, with handcrafted recreations of ancient instruments made of wood, gut, goat skins, conch shells and bronze.

The collection explores the oldest roots of Western music: each instrument was handcrafted using period-accurate methods, materials and tools by the Athens-based historical research group LyrAvlos, led by Panagiotis Stefos, played by the group and recorded in exquisite detail by producer John Valasis. You will hear a Barbiton, Cithara, Lyre, Goat Horn Lyre, Pandura, Phorminx and Trigonon, single and double-reeded aulos from bass to alto, conch shell horns, a brass salpinx, pan flute and plagiaulos, plus a Crotalum, Kymbalon, Sistrum, two Tympanon drums and a Tympanon Zill. Plucks, sustains, staccatos, strikes, rolls and effects, 60 ambient pads and drones, 84 instrument presets and an interface with LFO, filters, glide, arpeggiator and an FX rack with convolution reverb offer great creative freedom.
