Requiem Light was recorded in the vast sanctuary of historic Saint Paul’s in San Francisco, conducted by Robert Geary with hand-picked members of Volti, SF Symphony Chorus, SF Opera and the San Francisco Choral Society, captured with 12 large-diaphragm microphones and mixed into a balanced, mix-ready stereo image. It contains polyphonic true legato on Ah, Eh and Oh, men’s and women’s divisi sustains on six vowels, 24 staccato syllables, 16 ultra-forte marcato words, 32 Latin words with tempo sync and poly-sustains for soprano and tenor soloists. Hundreds of choral effects from clusters and glisses to shouts, stomps and claps, sound-designed pads and atmospheres, 119 convolution reverb spaces and a syllable and phrase step sequencer complete the library.
