Verve revives the vintage analogue sounds of the Jen Brio 61-CS, a quirky Italian combo organ from the early 1960s.

The organ, with 61 keys, a rhythm machine and a built-in speaker, was most popular for its string ensemble tones with vibrato, but also offered trombone, trumpet, clarinet, oboe, tibia, piano and harpsichord presets. Synth sustains, staccatos and key up and down noises were sampled in wide stereo with a pair of Neumann TLM 103 microphones and via the direct line output, complemented by 30 evolving ambient pads and soundscapes. Glide for monophonic legato and portamento, an octave control, LFO, 13 filters, an arpeggiator and an FX rack with convolution reverb make the warm vintage sound highly adaptable.
