Tbilat Drum brings the traditional Moroccan hand drum – a bound pair of clay pot drums with goat skin heads and sinew wrappings – to Kontakt as a deeply sampled instrument.

The tbilat has a tight, crisp sound similar to bongos, but raspier, rounder and deeper. The large drum pair was recorded dry in the studio with bare hands and fingers, with an average of 6 or more velocity layers and 10 round robins per note, plus a second session in a large, reverberant tile and stone hall with close and far positions for orchestral and atmospheric arrangements. Twelve sound-designed banks of impacts, stingers, boomers and atmospheric hits are well suited to cinematic scoring, video game and multimedia sound design, EDM and hybrid compositions.
