The second volume of the Rust series is dedicated to prepared metal percussion from abandoned and remote places – from bunker doors to prison cells.

Rust 2 contains more than 3,000 samples in 81 instrument sets: bunker blast door slams and creaks, Cold War era tactical ballistic missile loading racks, mechanical prison cell doors, iron bathtubs, the stairways of a six-storey metal tower, steel I-beams, long aluminium rods and a metal sculpture park. Everything was played with drumsticks, mallets, hammers, bare hands and boots, with plenty of velocity layers and round robins; some sounds are tonal, others percussive or long, chaotic cinematic effects. Attack, offset, release, tuning, arpeggiator, LFOs, parametric EQ and convolution reverb shape the sound, and the Mega Mixer loads 10 elements with custom key range, tuning and mapping for your own ensembles, drum kits and tuned percussion orchestras.
