The first volume of the Rust series: an eclectic collection of metal impacts and tuned percussion recorded in natural environments.

Rust 1 focuses on classic small objects and found sounds such as metal racks, paint cans, soda cans, magnetic balls, steel pipes, brass hardware, a musical saw and odd bits of furniture, along with large structures like mine shaft gates, steel tunnels, towering stairways and structural I-beams. Sources were played with bare hands, sticks, mallets, hammers and even a violin bow, complemented by custom sound-designed ambient textures and sustains. The Uberpeggiator, tempo-syncing filter and volume LFOs, parametric EQ and convolution reverb with over 50 room and FX impulses shape the sound, and the Megamixer preset layers up to 10 instruments with custom range and tuning into ensembles, drum kits and acoustic blends.
