A stone percussion library recorded with authentic pre-Columbian tools and weapons from various North American cultures – some of them many thousands of years old.

The sources include mortars, pestles, grindstones, bowls, awls and hammers as well as axe heads, spear tips and arrowheads made of obsidian, serpentine, slate, flint, granite, sandstone, volcanic basalt and animal bone – from heavy grinding scrapes and thuds to thin, glassy taps, clicks and clinks. The 100 sound sets, each with 8 to 10 round robins per velocity layer, were captured up close in stereo in a dry studio with Neumann and Sound Devices hardware and are organised into clicks, flams and bounces, hand and finger articulations, scrapes, drags and grinds, and strikes, plus tuned articulations for melodic playing. Whether as an alternative to hand and drum percussion, for electronic percussion, sound effects or interface sounds in games and software, the arpeggiator with step sequencer, multi-effects rack and convolution reverb with 70 impulses open up plenty of room for sound design.
