A deeply multi-sampled tuned percussion library capturing a tiny toy saron, an Indonesian instrument used in the gamelan.

Eight of the saron’s metal bars were played with mallets and hammers to explore every nuance of its sound, recorded with two microphone positions, 10 round robins and up to 10 velocity layers per note, plus glissandi up and down. The source material was turned into 25 ambience patches and a wide range of soundscapes, complemented by 20 custom FX and ambient presets. The Kontakt interface offers swell, attack, release, vibrato, modulatable filters, LFO, arpeggiator and a key and scale lock for melodic playing. A modular FX rack with 18 modules in 10 slots and a convolution reverb with 99 spaces and 40 FX impulses complete the instrument.
