Classic latex rubber balloons inflated, stretched, twisted and popped – equal parts wind instrument, sound effects and percussion library.

Luftballon gathers the inflation, pops, hisses, wheezes, twists, squeals, pulls, deflation flubbers, screeches, scrapes, taps and snaps of around 100 party balloons in all sorts of shapes and sizes, along with percussion, sustaining and tonal elements. Each balloon was recorded with close-placed large-diaphragm microphones in a wide X-Y stereo field for an especially aggressive and dynamic sound. New FX articulations and ambiences were also created from the source, the samples were remastered and 20 FX presets were designed. The Kontakt interface offers an LFO, 12 filters, arpeggiator, key and scale lock and a modular FX rack with convolution reverb.
